Reflection about different methods

Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, the thing is to know very well when and how to apply them. It is also important to know very well the characteristics of the group you are teaching in order to understand the best way they learn.

Communicative teaching learning is one of the methods I would choose to apply in my classes, because it develops the speaking ability in a real context which is absolutely necessary nowadays in our globalize world.
One of the problems of this methods, is that English teacher not always speak English during their classes, using most of the time the mother tongue language; as I could realized in my recent practices. It is a petty, that this situation is being repeated in many schools of our country, I hope the new law related to increase the number of hours in the English subject tent to improve English language acquisition in Chile.
The suggestopedia method could also be useful to be applied in big groups, in order to make students feel more comfortable, relaxed and self-confident; moreover, in these days when we see our students being more aggressive and fighting more.

language learning experiences

My experience during my time at school was great, because since I entered to St Margaret’s school (a British school for girls) in 2nd grade, I felt as if I were part of a big community in which we were encouraged and motivated to speak, to write and read  in English. How can I forget those entertaining classes in which teachers read us stories about princess, castles and imaginary characters which lead us to develop our imagination and creativity. I also remembered our poetry classes; It was one of my favorites subjects because we were able to create our own poems. Apart from that, I used to like learning about Vikings and old British history.
Role play was a frequent activity in my school and I think it was very important in order to help us to gain confidence when talking in a foreign language. Now, I realize the importance of English and how fortunate I am for having choosing this course.

I think, that an effective second language teacher must develop the fourth skills in their students, doing innovating and motivating classes; using a variety of exercises that encourage students´ learning, specially thinking development.
To learn a second language it is necessary to develop the fourth abilities in the same way, and also creating a good environment for children in which they can have access to different kind of material, such as books, magazines, computers, etc.
I think, one of the most important factors when learning a second language, is the motivation of the students and the creativity of the teacher when developing the exercises and explaining the content in different ways as a way that every student can
understand.
Second languages should be taught with different techniques, and also with a variety of methodology that fit best for each group of students.
The role of the teacher should be active, patience and motivating, always trying to learn more and improving news strategies.
I think the most important language experiences a teacher should provide is the speaking ability in real situations.

First reflection: SIMCE (English)

I THINK THAT THE SIMCE ENGLISH RESULTS ARE DUE TO DIFFERENT ASPECTS,
ONE IMPORTANT ASPECT COULD BE THE LACK OF INTEREST THAT MANY SCHOOLS HAVE WHEN TEACHING THIS SECOND LANGUGE,BECAUSE THEY FEEL IT IS DIFFICULT TO TEACH CLASSES WITH GREAT AMOUNT OF STUDENTS , ALSO STUDENTS WITH DIFFICULTIES IN SOME LEARNING AREAS.
ANOTHER ASPECT I BELIEVE IT IS IMPORTANT TO MENTION IS THE METHODOLOGY USED WHEN TEACHING ENGLISH,MOST OF THE TIME AND IN THE MAJORITY OF SCHOOLS ,THIS SECOND LANGUAGE IS TEACH FOCUSING THE OBJECTIVES IN THE GRAMATICAL ASPECT INSTEAD OF USING METHODOLOGIES CONCERNING  WITH THE ABILITY OF SPEAKING. AND THIS IS REALLY A PROBLEM
BECAUSE WE HAVE TO MOTIVATE OUR STUDENTS AND MAKE THEM FEEL RELAXED WHEN SPEAKING ENGLISH.,THEY HAVE TO FEEL FREE TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES.
ONE ASPECT WE CAN NOT FORGET IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STATE-FUNDED SCHOOLS AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS.THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS NORMALY TEACH ENGLISH FROM KINDER , WHILE OTHER SCHOOLS TEACH ENGLISH FROM FIFTH GRADE
